Suicide prevention programs and services showcased on The Suicide Prevention Hub have been reviewed and assessed using rating scales designed specifically for The Hub. The rating scales are available here.

Reviews are completed by a minimum of two Expert Reviewers (suicide prevention sector specialists and evaluation experts) commissioned by Suicide Prevention Australia.

The rating scales lead to an overall assessment of programs/services as either ‘Excellent’, ‘Good’, ‘Satisfactory’ or ‘Unsuitable for listing on The Suicide Prevention Hub’.

When both Expert Reviews assess a program/service as ‘Excellent’, ‘Good’ or ‘Satisfactory’, the program/service is listed on The Hub as a ‘Quality’ program.

To help users of The Hub to determine which programs and services have the strongest evidence, The Hub uses a three star rating system (whereby three stars indicates the strongest evidence). More detail about how the star ratings are determined is provided in the table below.

Importantly, all programs/services that achieve a star rating (be it one, two or three stars) have been assessed as having good evidence behind them.
